Back in 2014, Benedikt Magnússon was the king of the deadlifters. He held the record for the heaviest deadlift in history after Eddie Hall dramatically dropped his 461KG instead of lowering it, invalidating the lift. Fast forward to 2016 and Benni once again received a challenge to his deadlift crown from The Beast.
That night in Leeds, Eddie triumphed and Benni faltered- the 500KG came off the floor but he couldn’t get it any further than a couple of inches. 3 years later, Benni is one of the only deadlifters in the world with a serious chance of beating Eddie Hall’s 500KG deadlift world record.
